Elway has been a landmark figure in American football since 1983, when he first signed up with the Broncos. He then began a lifelong relationship with the team, leading them to victory many times as a player and manager.
Elway won two Super Bowls as a quarterback, winning the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player title in 1999. During his long and brilliant career, he would also be chosen as the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, two-time AFC Offensive Player of the Year, and NFL Man of the Year. He made it into the 1990s NFL All-Decade team and the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame, before forging a successful second career as a general manager. Sure enough, he led the Broncos to Super Bowl victory once again in the Super Bowl 50 – as well as winning four division titles and two AFC Championships.
