At Getz Fire Equipment Company, we have extensive experience in all types of commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning in Iowa. However, far from just providing the cleaning service, our technicians will also provide a complete examination of your system, letting you now if there are any areas of concern.
Common issues we see in both older and newly constructed commercial kitchens are often not included in the cleaning services we provide. However, we would be happy to talk to you about the areas we see as out of code and you can then get in touch with your electrician, HVAC or sheet metal company, or even your roofing company.
Our goal is to provide the best service to the restaurant industry as well as for commercial kitchens in all types of buildings and facilities. Since we do have years of experience in this area, there is no kitchen exhaust system we haven’t seen.
Our Standards
We are a member of the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) which is an international non-profit trade organization. It was developed to address the growing number of restaurant fires originating between kitchen appliances and the exhaust systems.
As a fire developed on the appliance, perhaps through grease or cooking oil, it then flared up into the exhaust system, rapidly spreading the flames to the rest of the building. However, will a well-maintained exhaust system which is cleaned according to the IKECA standards the risk of this happening decreases significantly.
In addition, through regularly scheduled and professionally completed kitchen exhaust cleaning in Iowa the cooking space will be cleaner, cooler and safer for employees.
The Steps
The steps involved in the IKECA standards for kitchen exhaust cleaning in Iowa or elsewhere, are always the same. With the acceptance of these high standards for cleaning restaurant owners and managers have the confidence in knowing the most recognized and accepted protocols have been followed during the cleaning process.
We also highly recommend that kitchen staff be trained in the use of fire extinguishers and which extinguishers to use on specific types of fires. We will come right to your restaurant or a designated training location, and we will provide both classroom interactive components as well as actual hands-on training in extinguishing fires.
We believe that our comprehensive training, combined with the right fire suppression equipment and regular kitchen exhaust cleaning in Iowa will make your kitchen a safer and cleaner workplace for everyone.
